Blue-grey, in our opinion, is essentially a blue color with grey undertones (or grey mixed in). As a result, they’re more like dusty blues. Others think it’s more of a grey with cold blue overtones. When someone says light blue grey paint, bluish grey, or greyish blue, there are a variety of color expectations. As a result, we constantly need to double-check with consumers to ensure they’re saying what they mean.

Showing them color samples and having them react is the best method to achieve this. Was this what they wanted, or did they want something more blue or grey? (or lighter or darker).

As a result, we’ll show you a variety of light blue grey paint, including ones that are more grey, bluer ones, lighter ones, and darker ones. Also, do read about the most important dark green paint colors.  We would want to emphasize that there is no right or wrong answer here…more, it’s a question of personal preference.

Depending on your style and goal, any of these colors can work. Also, any of these colors might be utilized as accent walls rather than using all four walls. Your oyster is the entire globe.

What Are The Most Popular Colors Of Light Blue Grey Paint Colors?

Icy By Sherwin Williams

Icy By Sherwin Williams What Is The Light Blue Grey Paint Color? What Does That Mean?

Because it’s a light blue grey paint, Icy (SW6534) is one of my faves. If you’re looking for a light neutral blue, this is it. The grey undertones give it a more refined appearance (so you avoid the baby blue look). It also works in locations where there isn’t a lot of light, such as dark rooms.

Flower Box by Benjamin Moore

Flower Box by Benjamin Moore

This is our favorite Benjamin Moorelight blue grey paint, in our opinion. It’s the ideal blend of the two for a truly upmarket appearance. The only drawback to this paint color is that it’s only available in the Aura collection. Aura is the greatest of the best, but it is quite pricey, so it is not suitable for everyone’s budget.

Thundercloud by Behr

Thundercloud by Behr

While Behr isn’t my favorite paint brand, we love several of their blues, with Thundercloud (S520-5) being my fave. We see it on Pinterest. It’s really lovely and relaxing. It’s another example of a well-balanced blue and grey palette. Compared to the Flower box, it has more green undertones and is a little less purple. We adore both of them.

North Star by Sherwin Williams

North Star by Sherwin Williams

North Star (SW 6246) is a chilly grey with a hint of blue. Because it’s a pretty neutral tone, it’s ideal for more masculine décor. Dark hardwood flooring with a light/white area rug is our favorite combination.

Granite Peak by Sherwin Williams

Granite Peak by Sherwin Williams

Granite Peak (SW 6250) is a dark grey with hints of blue and very faint green overtones. It’s a rich greyish blue ideal for accent walls, powder rooms, and media rooms.

Comet by Benjamin Moore

Comet by Benjamin Moore

Comet (1628) is a hazy blue with a faint sheen. You may notice mild purple and navy undertones blended with a strong grey if you look attentively.

Bachelor Blue by Benjamin Moore

Bachelor Blue by Benjamin Moore

Bachelor blue (1629) is a darker variation of Comet, with a subtle dusty navy undertone. Comet and Bachelor Blue are complementary colors to use Comet as a foundation and Bachelor Blue as an accent wall.

Dockside Blue by Sherwin Williams

Dockside Blue by Sherwin Williams

Dockside Blue (SW 7601) is a grayed-blue dusty blue. You’ll see some little green and turquoise tones if you look attentively. The greys soften the color and give it a more refined appearance than a traditional blue.

Sterling by Benjamin Moore

Sterling by Benjamin Moore

Sterling (1591) is a cold grey with a neutral undertone. This hue is challenging since it seems grey on the paint chip, but it appears bluer than grey once applied to the walls. It’s simply how the light bounces off of it. This is why getting testers and hanging them on your walls so you can see the color with your lighting is always a good idea.

Upward by Sherwin Williams

Upward by Sherwin Williams

The next five light blue grey paint are all cohesive. In their color fan deck, you’ll find them all on the same Sherwin Williams Color strip. They’re all the same tone, so you may mix and match them in other house sections or use them as accent walls.

Upward (SW6239) is a light blue grey paint with a hint of purple. The blue is scarcely noticeable. As you walk along the color strip, you’ll see that the blue becomes more vibrant and prominent. This hue seems bluer in the image below than it typically does.

Windy Blue by Sherwin Williams

Windy Blue by Sherwin Williams

One of my favorite light blue grey paint is Windy Blue (SW6240). The blue is considerably brighter than the one above, ideal for our tastes because we adore blues. The modest greys provide depth to the color and ensure that it lasts. You’re good to go with dark hardwood flooring and black furnishings.

Aleutian by Sherwin Williams

Aleutian by Sherwin Williams

Aleutian (SW 6241) is a darker blue-grey that looks great. It complements both dark and light hardwood flooring (or even an off-white carpet). You’re good to go with blue and white accents.

Daphne by Sherwin Williams

Daphne by Sherwin Williams

Aleutian (SW 9151) is a slightly darker variation of Daphne (SW 9151). It looks great with Windy Blue, Distance, and Indigo Batik. If your room is with wainscoting or beadboard, it contrasts well with white base molding and trims.

Bracing Blue by Sherwin Williams

Bracing Blue by Sherwin Williams

The shade Bracing Blue (SW 6242) is a darker variation of Daphne. It’s a deep darker hue that looks great with plenty of white (white cabinets, wainscoting, etc.) or a feature wall. The color is a rich dusty blue.

Blue Paint Colors for Every Room

From bright to dark and everything in between, there’s something for everyone. There’s a reason why blue is so popular: It may be evocative and moody, quiet and relaxing, or dramatic and dynamic, depending on the shade—plus, it goes well with a variety of other hues (including wood tones and metallics).

We’ve compiled a list of designers’ favorite tried-and-true blue hues, ranging from the palest powder blue to deep, shimmering navy, because picking the proper light blue grey paint may be a daunting endeavor given the variety of alternatives. Consider the search for the ideal light blue grey paint to be similar to the ideal pair of blue jeans: There’s a perfect blue for your décor, whether it’s ultra-traditional or ultra-modern.

Icy Blues

Icy blues bring within clear heavens. “We picked this gorgeous blue-gray to create the appearance of bringing the outdoors to a library that opens to a garden and pool,” says designer Paloma Contreras. She matched Benjamin Moore’s Water’s Edge 1635 to a high-gloss lacquer for a mirror-like surface.

Farrow Ball Borrowed Light

“After a rain, the air has a certain purity to it, and this hue has the same effect. It makes a room’s ceiling appear higher, and the area appears larger all of a sudden. It alters the space’s vibe and allows you to take a huge, deep breath for the first time! “Katie Maine, a designer, adds.

“This frosty blue has a lovely chilly sharpness about it. To achieve a layered, monochromatic effect, I’d choose textiles in different tones of the same color, such as blue and slate. Alternatively, you might use contrasting hues such as brown and red. The place is comfortable to be in because of the warmth and friendliness of all the textures and tones, “Robert Stilin, a designer, agrees.

Is it possible to paint an office? Blue is a good choice. Sheila Bridges, who chose Farrow & Ball’s Oval Space Blue for this room, notes, “Studies have proven that blue increases your capacity to focus.” “There’s a hint of grey in this tone, which makes it even more relaxing.”

Benjamin Moore Early Frost Blue

“This is sometimes referred to as mild grey, although it contains blue and purple. It reminds me of the hue of the Seattle fog. I used this color in a living room with enormous windows facing the Pacific Ocean, and you couldn’t tell the difference between the water, the sky, and the walls during certain times of the day.

Benjamin Moore Blue Veil

“This reminds me of a long hot day, tall glass of water. Because it’s subtle, I use it a lot for ceilings. It draws your attention but does not scream. Do it on the walls in a high-gloss finish if you want to dazzle, and the area will be electrified! “Designer James Howard agrees.

Farrow Ball Light Blue

“When you consider the hue of a lake, you must consider trees, shadows, and clouds. Like this gray-blue, it isn’t very clear. It isn’t a bright jewel tone like the sea. The ocean is all about energy, with its crashing waves. The water in a lake is more relaxing. It washes up on the beach. This gray-blue color flows across a space, obscuring the clutter, “Susan Ferrier, a designer, agrees.

PALE BLUES

PALE BLUE house

“Benjamin Moore 813 Sweet Bluette is my favorite blue paint which is part of the Benjamin Moore Classics and matches designs from classic to modern and everything in between,” says New York City designer Marie Burgos. It’s a soothing hue tone that evokes feelings of relaxation and healing, making it ideal for a nursery or bedroom.”

Dunn-Edwards Drenched Rain

Dunn Edwards Drenched Rain What Is The Light Blue Grey Paint Color? What Does That Mean?

“This is a beautiful and romantic blue with grey undertones. The shimmering reflections on the streets, the hazy sky, and the coat-grabbing wind encapsulate Paris in the rain for me. Because it’s a calming hue, I envision it in a bedroom or a breakfast room. To make the blue appear deeper, pair it with yellows and oranges, “Ryan Saghian, a designer, agrees.

Benjamin Moore Jet Stream Blue

Benjamin Moore Jet Stream Blue

“This was employed in the assessment of a Manhattan condominium with panoramic Hudson River views. It looked as if the sky had been coaxed inside to encompass the room in one falling swoop, blurring the borders of the walls. The sky’s color was mirrored in the river as well. Incorporate hues of green inspired by trees, as well as plenty of white, “Raji Radhakrishnan, a designer, agrees.

Glidden Caribbean Sea Blue

Glidden Caribbean Sea Blue

“The sea in Turkey is incredibly pure and bright—it’s a real ocean blue, similar to this tint. The tiles of the Color Mosque are the same blue. It has an infinite depth to it, which makes it quite relaxing. In a high-gloss finish, I’m seeing it in a foyer or a library. It’s only painted, after all. Take a chance and do it!” Designer David Phoenix agrees.

Bright Blues

Designer Courtney McLeod, who used Sherwin-Williams’ Dynamic Blue in her living room, adds, “It’s a blue brimming with enthusiasm!” “It achieves a beautiful blend of being vibrant and colorful while yet being quite livable. It also works well as a background for other bright colors.”

“This is one of those colors of blue that instantly transports me to a tropical paradise. Although it’s a medium-bright tone, it’s still soothing yet lively enough to make me smile as soon as I walk in. To complement the tropical flavor, use tangerine and lime green accents, “Debbie Viola, a designer, agrees.

Valspar Celestial Blue

Valspar Celestial Blue

“I prefer true colors over those that are only a glimpse of anything. This is a clear blue, which I adore. Anything you place against it will stand out, whether it’s a black bamboo bed or a brilliant abstract artwork. The light in the room also takes on a lovely atmospheric feel. It makes you feel happy, “Designer Harry Heissmann agrees.

GREEN BLUES

GREEN BLUES

“The ethereal blues seen in Kandinsky paintings hanging in the Hermitage Museum inspired this sitting room,” says Kirill Istomin of the subdued turquoise color.

Valspar Turquoise Tint

“We were strolling down a street in the Caribbean islands, and I came to a halt on a ledge to gaze down at sea, which was precisely this hue. And then, all of a sudden, all of these tropical fish were swimming past in the gorgeous purples, yellows, and greens, barely three feet away. We humans may create many beautiful things, but nothing compares to what nature has already created, “Erinn Valencich, a designer, agrees.

Farrow Ball Green Blue

Designer Chad Graci states, “My favorite blue paint color is Farrow & Ball’s Green Blue #84.” “Because of its chameleon-like character, I adore utilizing this transparent, malleable blue. When you need it to, it might feel seaside, historical, or just plain fresh “.

DUSTY BLUES

DUSTY BLUES

For this entrance, designer Ashley Izsak used Clare Paint’s Good Jeans “because it complemented the wallpaper I chose (Endless Summer by York Wallcoverings). Because of its toned-down soothing properties, this shade of blue almost feels like a neutral, and it works well in our open-concept space to lend a little bit of drama without appearing strong.”

Benjamin Moore Antiguan Sky

“Aqua is a soft hue that helps to balance a fiery redhead like me and creates a lovely space. Most individuals look excellent in aqua, and feeling good about yourself helps you feel more confident. I want to stick to a single color palette to add a deeper teal or Prussian blue. It would be more vibrant and exciting if it were red or pink, “Designer Lindsey Coral Harper agrees.

NAVY BLUES

NAVY BLUES house

When painting small spaces, designers frequently choose a rich, dark blue, such as Farrow & Ball’s Hague Blue. “Because the library is tiny, it lends itself to a luxurious jewel-box treatment,” explains Jeanette Whitson.

Benjamin Moore Santa Monica Blue

“At low tide in the Bahamas, the water is a deep, almost Prussian blue, and when combined with coral-colored materials, it’s stunning. It has a beautiful vibration. I’ve also used it in a blue-and-white toile bedroom. This is the hue to use if you’re building a home near the sea or want to remember the sea, “Alessandra Branca, a designer, agrees.

Benjamin Moore Polo Blue

Benjamin Moore Polo Blue

“In a dining area, a deep, dark blue will recall the deep, black Atlantic. The matte paint finish absorbs as much light as possible while allowing the things put on it to shine, “Designer Tom Scheerer agrees.

French Blue

“This hue is one of my favorites since it varies throughout the day. The pigments are so rich that it appears to have a periwinkle in one perspective, while from another, it appears to be a pure dark blue. When applied on furniture, it offers a level of depth that most other paints can’t match, “Kelly Finley, a designer, agrees.

Farrow & Ball Pitch Blue

Farrow & Ball Pitch Blue

Pitch Blue is also a favorite of designer Dan Barsanti. “I’m a huge fan of blue and white. To me, it screams nautical, clean, and ageless. I painted my kitchen cabinets a beautiful blue—nearly navy with a hint of periwinkle—and installed white statuary marble on the counters, “Barsanti agrees.

Sherwin-Williams Searching Blue

“This impressionistic blue demonstrates that a hue may be both relaxing and thrilling. It’s almost as if you’re sinking into the peacefulness, yet it’s still firm, “Mary Douglas Drysdale, a designer, agrees.

For a modern and pleasant house, choose a calming light blue grey paint color.

Light blue grey paint colors are becoming increasingly fashionable. It is soothing and peaceful, and when combined with grey undertones, they create a sophisticated look. It appears more sophisticated and upmarket than traditional blues, and it’s the ideal combination because grey is so fashionable.

Light blue grey paint is very popular in bedrooms, as blues aid in getting a good night’s sleep, and grey is a close second. They’re also suitable for most rooms in the house, including living rooms, dining rooms, bathrooms, and even kitchens (if you have white cabinets).
