Prepare Your Lawn

Summer’s rising temperatures and dry spells can significantly damage your landscaping and grass without proper preparations. To keep your backyard at its peak all through summer, aerate to perforate the soil with small holes to let air, nutrients, and water reach the roots, creating a healthier, more vibrant lawn. Remove the sun-blocking thatch, as the build-up blocks water, nutrients, and sunlight from getting to the soil below, stopping new and healthy growth.

Reseed areas that no longer promote healthy growth. If your lawn isn’t lush and fertilizer isn’t helping, the soil could be acidic. Liming reinstates the soil to the right PH level. Landscaping experts such as Malone’s Landscape can help renovate your yard, making it healthier and lush.

Update Your Patio Or Deck Furniture

Great outdoor furniture adds comfort and function to your patio or deck. Your outdoor furniture may need repainting or repairs. You can also get weather-proof chairs and tables to ensure longevity. You can use the metal spray paint on rusted parts or get them fully repainted for an updated look. You can make the deck furniture look colorful and cozy throw pillows in sturdy outdoor fabrics. Check the cushion covers to ensure they aren’t torn and replace them if necessary.

Add Plants

Plants can help you create a backyard that offers a relaxed atmosphere for you and your loved ones. Trees, shrubs, vines, flowers, or a combination of multiple plants absorb sound, making your yard a good place to be. Privacy backyard plants you may consider are emerald green arborvitae, Norway spruce, American holly, star jasmine, lady palm, and others. You can also add new plants to your existing garden to spruce it up.

Clean Your Deck, Patio, Or Porch

Pressure washing your deck or patio removes unwanted residue or particles, including dust, debris, grime, and dust from the surface. This improves your deck’s look and frees it from safety and health hazards. Most wood types are highly prone to fungal growth, including mold and mildew. A pressure wash fully removes mildew, mold, and other fungi, protecting your deck from rot.

Add A Fire Pit

Fire pits are a beautiful backyard addition for dressing your yard and may serve as a gathering place for evening drinks, intimate late-night talks, afternoon barbecues, and parties during summer. You can make your firepit a focal point for your outdoor space or use it as an extra room for entertainment, family gatherings, and casual dinners.

Add Outdoor Patio Shade

While the summer sun is beautiful, powerful UV rays can be hazardous to you and your loved ones. Patio shades shield you from the scorching heat and protect you and your loved ones from prying eyes. You can get waterproof, heavy-duty, or cordless outdoor shades.
