This new high-quality air filter will efficiently and effectively cleanse the air in your entire home. Its proprietary “Capture and Kill” Technology collects and kills up to 99 percent of airborne viruses, germs, mold, and bacteria.

According to Filter King, the /whole-house-filters/carrier has a hybrid technology that kills germs and spores on contact by utilizing a patented paper media filter and an electrical charge. It captures up to 95% of particles 0.3–1 micron in size and has an industry-leading MERV 15, which is better than most other brands.

It has been shown to destroy 13 major organisms known to cause illness, including influenza, streptococcus, measles, and the common cold. It also collects pollen, animal dander, smoking, and other air contaminants, ensuring that your air is as clean as possible.

Why Carrier Air Filters Are Amazing

The Air Purifier, designed to operate with any ducted HVAC system, cleans the air up to eight times per hour. As quickly as you install this purifier, you will notice a significant increase in the air quality. It can help lessen allergy and asthma symptoms and keep you safe from minor illnesses and viruses.

When you consider the entire spectrum of what’s floating about in your house’s air, MERV ratings represent a filter’s performance on all of it. Higher values indicate higher filtration of the tiny particles that cause many respiratory ailments, such as pollen and smoke. And medium-efficiency MERV filters in the 8 to 13 range can remove 90% or more of these.

Carrier Air Filters vs. Other Brands

Another item to consider when comparing Carrier air filters to other brands is that certain filter maker companies employ their own grading conventions (MPR by Filtrete and FPR by Home Depot, for example). Both claim to be based on the ASHRAE 52.2 standard used to calculate MERV ratings, but neither firm gives an easily accessible explanation of how its own ratings vary from or compare to MERV.

Carrier Air Filters have different sizes and purposes according to your needs. You may evaluate the efficacy of each of the following types of filters by looking at their MERV rating:

  • Fiberglass filter: Fiberglass filters are often the most affordable alternative. They are typically 1″ thick and provide basic filtering. They are disposable filters that should be inspected and, if needed, replaced every 30 days.
  • Polyester / pleated filters: Pleated filters come in various widths, but they are all more effective at eliminating airborne contaminants than regular fiberglass filters. When compared to regular fiberglass filters and even 1-inch pleated variants, 4-inch pleated filters provide significantly better filtering. These filters also have a significantly larger surface area, and they may possibly be left in place for up to a year before needing to be cleaned or replaced.
  • Air filters that can be washed: Washable filters are less frequent. As airborne particles accumulate on their surface, they become more effective at filtering. Instead of being replaced, these filters are removed, cleaned, and then reinstalled.

About MERV Ratings

 Air Filters

Regular filters with MERV ratings ranging from nine to twelve stop particles as tiny as 1.0 pm in size, including humidifier dust, legionella, and car emissions. These are the most effective filters for usage in your house. Commercial buildings, hospitals, and clean rooms require filters with a MERV of 13 or higher. Combine frequent filter changes with yearly preventive maintenance to get the maximum performance out of your air conditioning unit.

The Infinity air purifier is compatible with most HVAC systems manufactured by Carrier and other manufacturers. It treats the air passing through an HVAC system’s air handler using a three-step charge/capture/kill procedure that inactivates 99 percent of selected viruses and bacteria. This is how they work:

  • Step One: Charge – As airborne dust, allergens, viruses, bacteria, and other particles pass through, the purifier forms a “cloud” of electrically charged ions that adhere themselves to them.
  • Step 2: Capture – The ionized particles are drawn toward an oppositely charged, pleated filter and caught at an exceedingly fast pace.
  • Step Three: Kill-trapped airborne bacteria are treated to a strong electric field and stay on the pleated filter rather than recirculating back into the home.

Final Words

Carrier air filters are great for any household. Their “Capture and Kill” Technology captures up to 95% of particles 0.3–1 micron in size. These types of air filters will protect you from dust, allergens, viruses, bacteria, and other particles. Contact a professional and learn more!
