But why is solar energy the best energy source for the average homeowner? We’re here with a quick solar energy guide to explain. Read on to learn more.

Solar Panels Can Increase Your Home Value

As more and more people discover the value of going solar, they’re interested in buying homes that have solar panels pre-installed.

If you know that you don’t plan on living in your current home for the entire lifespan of your solar panels, that’s okay. You can get the cost of the solar panels back when you decide to sell your home.

Many people don’t want to go through the hassle of installing solar panels on their own. They’ll be very motivated to buy a house that already has them!

Solar Energy Is Renewable Energy

The biggest problem with our conventional power sources is that they’re non-renewable.

Non-renewable resources are resources that won’t come back once we’ve used them. Currently, the majority of our energy comes from fossil fuels. Once we’ve depleted them, they’re gone.

Renewable energy sources include wind, water, and solar energy. These are resources that won’t go anywhere. We don’t take anything away from the environment in order to use them.

If the sun suddenly disappeared, we’d have larger problems than a lack of energy.

Renewable energy is the greenest choice. It’s how you shrink your carbon footprint and avoid putting dangerous chemicals into the atmosphere.

You Can Save Money on Energy Bills

One of the top reasons that people go solar is because they’re tired of high energy bills. If you use a lot of energy in your home, why not talk to a solar installation provider about your potential energy savings?

Some people find that their solar panels can offset the entire cost of their energy bills. Others can even get money back from the power company (though this isn’t an option everywhere).

It’s More Affordable Than Ever

The high cost of solar panels is off-putting for many homeowners, but it is more affordable than it’s ever been to get them. At the moment, you can even take advantage of the solar tax credit for even more benefits.

The government wants to incentivize people to go solar. In 2022, you get a 26% tax credit. As the years go on, that credit percentage will get lower, so it’s best to act fast.

It’s Accessible

As we mentioned, water and wind energy are also fantastic green energy options. Unfortunately, it’s difficult for most people to harness enough water or wind to power their homes.

Solar energy is accessible to the vast majority of people. If your home gets sunlight, you can power it with solar energy.

So Why Is Solar Energy the Best Energy Source?

With all of this in mind, the answer to “Why is solar energy the best energy source?” should be obvious. It’s green, accessible, and cost-effective. It will even increase the value of your home.

Is solar energy right for you?
