Why Do We Need Home Emergency Cover?

We want to offer dependable coverage to our clients for a variety of home goods. All of our customers enjoy competent service and, above all, peace of mind, thanks to our affordable premium rates, constrained excesses, and expedited claims processing.

It is always recommended to take a Home emergency cover to cover your home from any emergencies such as a blocked pipe or a broken boiler.

What is covered under Home Emergency?

We at Smart Cover tend to cover:

  • Plumbing, drainage, electricity, security, boiler, and central heating emergencies are all covered.
  • Rates Differ As Per Cover Levels.

What is not covered under Home Emergency?

  • Work on general maintenance.
  • Every occurrence is not an emergency.
  • Any leak that causes no property damage
  • It was a central heating boiler that needed maintenance during the previous 12 months but hadn’t been done.
  • Home Emergency Plans that we provide for our clients:

We provide a £1000 annual claim cap for both our basic and standard plans. It costs £2,500 for an essential plan and £5,000 for a premium plan.

The following: Central Heating Coverage, Boiler Breakdown, Alternative Accommodation, and Boiler Service are not covered by Smart Cover. All other services, including those for blocked pipes, pests, lost keys, external locks, doors, and windows, are also covered. Those who choose standard, essential, or premium coverage may unwind knowing that Smart Cover will take care of everything.

What is covered by home emergency insurance?

Unexpected occurrences like leaks, boiler malfunctions, keys losses, and an abrupt loss of gas or electricity are all covered by the home emergency insurance policy. Whether you want to add it to your home insurance plan or buy it as a separate policy, emergency repairs will be done as soon as possible by a variety of tradespeople. This will make your property safe or stop further damage.

What is not covered by home emergency insurance?

This form of coverage does not cover mishaps and common asset breakages; for these, see Content Cover. Home Emergency does not cover damage from normal wear and tear, such as when a boiler malfunctions because it wasn’t maintained or when issues arise because a product was sold. A leak that doesn’t harm the property is not considered an emergency and is not covered by the insurance.

What does the home emergency plan include?

Home emergency services include coverage for unanticipated boiler and central heating system failures; electrical problems; clogged drains; broken exterior locks on doors and windows; insect infestations; and misplaced keys. Our pricing is variable, allowing you to select the features that are most essential to you and customise the cover from our basic to our premium cover. As you move up a level, the number of claims you can make each year will go up, and if a household emergency makes your home unlivable, you will be able to get a different place to live starting with our standard cover.

Is there a cap on the number of claims I may submit?

Although there are annual caps on the overall number of claims, there are no restrictions on the number of claims you may submit. The Basic plan allows for claims up to £1,000 per year, with a £250 maximum claim limit per claim. The standard is constant. With essentials, the annual claim cap increases to £2,500, with a £500 cap on individual claims. Last but not least, the Premium plan has a £5,000 yearly claim limit and a £1,000 per claim limit.

What problems would a homeowner face without home emergency insurance?

It’s good for both your head and your house to have home emergency coverage. If you’re in a crisis, you want to know that support is around at all times. Calling a heating engineer, locksmith, or plumber out at such short notice might result in increased rates and call-out fees if you don’t have coverage, which is why it’s important to have insurance. With this cover, you don’t have to be concerned about such life-or-death situations.

For up to fourteen days following the date of your purchase, we will match a lower price on an identical coverage level if you find it elsewhere at a cheaper price. Just let us know the name of the insurance company, the extent of the coverage, and the cost. As soon as the difference is validated, we will issue a reimbursement. Please send an email with the relevant information to the following address: enquiries@smart-cover.co.uk.

Pick the right insurance coverage to put together a policy that fits your needs. A home emergency cover helps pay for repairs that need to be done right away. It will cover the cost of emergency repairs and give you up to £5,000 per year in claims.
