There is something nice and rustic about a good brick wall, it just seems sturdy, powerful, and cozy all at the same time, and whether it makes up part of a home or all of the home, it can really make you feel good. However, sometimes adding brick to a design or to a home is simply impossible because of the way the home works or because it would be too costly or too complicated.

That is where brick slips come in, and they can give you all the benefits of a brick wall without the intense install time or the massive cost. But what are brick slips and how can you use them to build the perfect house?

First, What Are Brick Slips?

Also called brick veneers and brick tiles, brick slips are thin slices of bricks that are applied to a surface and give it the appearance of a brick wall. These brick tiles can be applied to any wall and give the wall an appearance of being a brick wall, and they are just as asesthetically pleasing. Plus, unless you know about the brick slips going in beforehand, they are almost impossible to notice and tell apart from a regular brick wall.

Brick slip tiles are also very easy to install and only take up a fraction of the space of the regular bricks, so even a DIYer can do it. If you are excited about brick slips and want to know where you can use them to spruce up your home, here are some of their best uses!

1. Outdoors On Your Patio

There’s something about sitting around on a porch or patio surrounded by brick wall, but if you don’t want to knock down your existing walls and rebuild them all brick by brick, then you can place some brick slips on your patio or on any other outside walls to create a warm and inviting environment for anyone. This can help you create a modern outside style that will make it even easier to be outside on those warm and sunny days!

They can also be used for outdoor structures as well to add some style, plus they are just as durable as a brick wall and can resist both the weather and the other effects of the outdoors.

2. Use Them On Fireplaces

Fireplaces are wonderful centerpieces for every single home, but whenever it comes to what style of fireplace is the best, people are going to almost always say brick fireplaces are the best. However, if you can’t afford to replace your fireplace with a brick one, the next best thing is to use brick slips which are just as good as regular bricks. These are durable, add that same warm and inviting feel to your fireplace, and are also durable enough to withstand all the heat from the use of your fireplace.

They also retain the insulation effects of the normal sized bricks, so retaining heat can be very easy to do with these bricks as well.

3. Brick Slips For Offices

Whether you have a home office or have an office space that you are using for your work, you can use splashes of brick strips to add some texture and warmth to the office walls. This can be helpful because the brick slips can very easily break through the lack of texture in the office, or can bring attention to other decorations such as bookshelves or paintings on the walls.

One of the major benefits of brick slips is that you don’t need to commit to an entire wall of them, but can instead place strips of them or lines of them in various shapes on your wall to add that texture you like and to make the asthetic match what you want. So take the time to customize your brick slips and create a cool looking office!

Brick Slips Can Be Used Everywhere

From walls that just need a little extra touch with bricks to walls that are too structurally thin to support a regular brick wall, there’s almost no reason not to use brick slips on your walls around the house. Plus, unlike normal bricks that need a massive amount of time and money to get properly installed, the brick slips can be easily installed by you with minimal effort and supplies.

So figure out what you want to use your brick slips for, and then grab several and start using them to get that brick wall feeling in your home!
