Here, we’ll discuss the four most popular types of air conditioners. Keep reading to learn which is suitable for you.

Central Air Conditioners

Central air conditioners are one of your house’s main types of air conditioners. These home air conditioner provide cooling for your entire home. It features air ducts that deliver air from an outdoor unit to each room in your house.

Central air conditioning systems come equipped with a compressor, condenser, evaporator coil, and blower, all connected. This type of system is ideal for larger homes that require additional cooling capacity.

They are typically more expensive to install than other types of air conditioners. If you need help with installation, contact this aircon technician.

Window Unit Air Conditioners

Window Unit Air Conditioners are a home’s most common type of air conditioner. They are easy to install. They are typically more cost-effective than more complex systems.

A Window Unit has its air handler, compressor, and evaporator coil all built into one stand-alone unit. They are usually mounted in a window and connected to an exhaust hose that allows the hot air to be expelled outside. This makes them very simple and easy to use.

These types of Air Conditioners are best when used to cool one or two rooms or in a small house or apartment. They tend to cost the least out of all the other types, but they can also be noisy and bulky.

Portable Air Conditioners

Portable air conditioners are great for those looking for a low-cost, easy-to-install cooling option. These devices have all of the components of a regular air conditioner but do not require extra installation.

Portable air conditioners are self-contained units that typically sit on a rolling platform and are moved from room to room or stored away wholly when not in use. Their portability makes them an ideal choice for apartments, rooms without air conditioning, or rooms that need temporary cooling.

Multi-Split System Air Conditioners

MultiSplit System Air Conditioners are becoming increasingly popular due to their energy efficiency and ability to provide a centralized air conditioning solution for multiple rooms. This air conditioning unit comprises a singular outdoor compressor unit and several indoor air handlers.

They are connected by refrigerant lines and can provide air conditioning for several rooms of your house, all from a single, centralized system. Because of this, MultiSplit systems are perfect for larger homes where more than one area needs to be cooled because they don’t require adding, running, and maintaining separate indoor units in each room.

Furthermore, they usually feature multiple fan speed selections and other customizable features to get your desired temperature.

Knowing the Types of Air Conditioners

There are many types of air conditioners for your home. From window units to portable ACs, and split systems, there is an option for every budget and situation. Consider your budget, preference, and space when choosing the best air conditioning unit for your home.
